Liverpool are looking to sign Anderlecht midfielder Dennis Praet in the January transfer window.
The 21-year-old midfielder has a contract till 2017 and he is likely to be sold in the summer.
Several big Italian clubs like Fiorentina and Juventus have reportedly shown an interest in him, but none of the clubs are willing to match Anderlecht’s €30m valuation for the midfielder.
Earlier this month, we covered reports of Liverpool’s interest in the young midfielder, and now Italian newspaper Tuttosport (via Sportwitness) claims that Jurgen Klopp, the Reds manager, is keen on bringing the Belgian youngster to Anfield this month.
Midfield is one area where Liverpool are well stocked with quality players and do not need an immediate reinforcement.
Meanwhile, Liverpool’s hope of signing Switzerland midfielder Granit Xhaka is boosted after Borussia Monchengladbach sporting director Max Eberl has admitted their star player could leave, if the price is right.
Speaking to WDR 2 radio, Ebrel said the German club do not wish to sell their key players, but good offers could change the situation.
“It depends a bit on our own sporting success, it depends on Granit‘s own performances and of course it depends on the figures.
If they reach a certain dimension, then you could get dizzy. There are always situations in which every club would have to make considerations.
It is all in our own hands. As things stand, we are happy to have him with us and hopefully he will stay with us for a long time.”
Xhaka, 23, is a highly talented versatile midfielder, who can play as a playmaker or in the defensive midfield role.
His future remains a hotly debated topic in Germany, with Liverpool being frequently linked with a move for his signature.
