After producing one of the best individual performances of the season so far, one can hardly help buy sway in the floods of exaggeration for Liverpool’s maverick star Luis Suarez. Hell, no. He deserves that. He deserves all the plaudits for his scintillating performance yesterday, as Liverpool earned an emphatic 5-1 victory at Anfield against Norwich City in the Premier League.
A reaction was necessary. After losing out to Hull City last weekend, the Reds were determined to bounce back but frankly what could the opposition do when Suarez was in this kind of mood? It was a privilege to watch him play, bringing out tricks one after another from his vast repertoire of mesmerism. Fans are blessed to have seen Suarez – he is the new Demi-God of Liverpool.

Simon Mignolet: 6/10
Well, the Belgian really wasn’t tested enough. He stood as a helpless spectator and watched his team-mate wreaking havoc at other ends. Still, Liverpool couldn’t maintain a clean sheet, but in no way he could be blamed.
Martin Skrtel – 6/10
Strong in the air, brilliant with interceptions, Skrtel has proved to be the key man in defence for Rodgers this season. It was yet another tidy performance from the Slovakian.
Daniel Agger – 5/10
The Reds vice-captain was beaten in the air on few occasions and was largely responsible for failing to clear the ball that led to goal for Norwich. He needs to look after his defensive job, as rightly pointed out by Rodgers.
Jon Flanagan – 6/10
The youngster is improving day by day and that is good news for the team. With 3 tackles, 2 interceptions and 6 clearances – the lad deserves a pat at the back.
Glen Johnson – 7/10
Johnson looked threatening every time he moved forward. Yet, defensively he did a brilliant job too – 4 tackles & 3 interceptions.
Joe Allen – 7/10
Allen did best what was asked of him – ball retention. With 89% passing accuracy, 6 tackles, and 5 accurate long balls – it was a tidy performance from the Welshman.
Steven Gerrard – 8/10
Take a look at his stats – 85 passes (more than anybody on pitch), 4 key passes, 88% passing accuracy, 12 accurate long balls, 3 through passes, 6 tackles, 6 shots and hitting the woodwork too.
Jordan Henderson – 6/10
Like Allen, Henderson played well within his limitation – linked up well with Suarez and Coutinho. Could have done with couple of half-chances he got in the first half.
Philippe Coutinho – 7/10
Fit again, the Brazilian was equally brilliant like Suarez. He is the central creative spark in the team – with 5 shots, 4 key passes and 7 successful dribbles in the match.
Raheem Sterling – 7/10
In absence of Sturridge, time has come where Sterling should step up to the plate. He scored the final goal of the match which should give him enormous confidence. He needed that badly.
Luis Suarez – 10/10
It was undoubtedly the best individual performance of the season so far while his first goal has to be one of the goals of the season.
