Liverpool fans witnessed yet another magical night at Anfield in the midweek, where Luis Suarez produced arguably one of the best individual performances of the season thus far, as the Reds earned a 5-1 victory over Norwich.
The following day, news circulated all over the Europe that Real Madrid are plotting an audacious move for Suarez and there was a little cause for trepidation. It was covered in two major newspapers of Spain, Sport and Mundo Deportivo, both picking up the story from English tabloid Daily Star.
We covered yesterday the truth behind the story. It came from yet another Exclusive from Mark Brus, a writer working for Sports Direct News, who is making a good reputation of himself for spreading non-sense.
Spanish newspaper Marca caught up with Suarez, who is an Exclusive interview with them said that he is happy at Liverpool and will stay until the end of the season.
“When I´m happy off the pitch, it makes a difference when I’m on it. I´m happy in the Premier, it’s the best league there is”, said Suarez. “Yes, I´m happy here and will stay until the end of the season.”
After a hectic summer transfer window, where we saw all sorts of possible topsy-turvy situation with Suarez, Liverpool ultimately refused to sell him to Arsenal. And in future, they will continue to do so to any other rival club. The situation could however be different, should Real Madrid table up a handsome offer.
Suarez is the leading scorer in the Premier League with 13 goals so far. His long term future with Liverpool solely rests on whether the Reds can notch up a Champions League qualification berth this season. As it stands, Suarez is not going anywhere in January.
