According to reports from the trusted and reliable Italian website TMW, Italian side Inter Milan are plotting a move for Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva in the upcoming January transfer window. TMW have cited Tuttosport saying that the Nerazzurri have set their sights on the 27 year who has fallen out of favour under Reds manager Brendan Rodgers.

Lucas has recently made some appearances for the Anfield side and has impressed but Rodgers has inexplicably fielded the out of sorts Joe Allen. With Emre Can also being regarded as along term prospect, Lucas could now leave Merseyside in January. Inter are looking for a six month loan deal till the end of the season but the report hasn’t mentioned if Roberto Mancini’s side would make the deal permanent in the summer or would opt for an option to but.

Another Italian side Napoli had tried to sign Lucas in the summer but the player somehow stayed put at Liverpool. The Partenopei might also make a winter transfer move as former Reds boss Rafa Benitez ho is currently in charge is a huge admirer of Lucas.

Making a move away from Liverpool would suit Lucas as he would get enough game time at Inter or at Napoli. Moreover, it would also highlight his ambitions with the National side. Present Brazil coach Dunga had earlier given Lucas his debute in national colours and could also recall him for the Copa America in 2015.
