Kenny Huang, a Chinese businessman, has reportedly told Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson that should the ownership bid be successful, any transfer would be possible, including Barcelona star Lionel Messi.
The Daily Star has revealed that Roy will be given the freedom to pursue any player he would like to make a Liverpool player.
On the day Fernando Torres returned to Anfield, the Chinese billionaire contacted the club’s bankers and made it clear that a bid will be presented and outlined a statement showing improvement from building the team through world-class transfers to organizing the construction of a new stadium for Liverpool Football Club will occur.
According to sources close to Huang, who is the head of Hong Kong based QSL Sports Ltd, Hodgson could identify any player in the world, and the new regime would check on availability and an asking price.
“It could be Lionel Messi, and every effort would be made to sign him. This guy is deadly serious about taking over and wants it done this month so Roy can significantly improve the team and go into the season with a realistic chance of winning something.”
