Liverpool striker Christian Benteke has been linked with a move away from Anfield this summer.

The Belgian signed from Aston Villa last summer, but the 32 million pounds signing has failed to live up to the expectations.

After the departure of Brendan Rodgers, Benteke fell out of favour with the new Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, who chose to use Roberto Firmino and Divock Origi as his strikers.

The return of Daniel Sturridge more or less ended Benteke’s first team hopes. The Belgian is desperate to play regularly like he has done all his career and criticised the Liverpool manager earlier this season during the international break.

According to Tuttosport, Juventus are interested in signing the Liverpool striker this summer.

Juventus executive Beppe Marotta sent a trusted club official to Liverpool yesterday for the match against Villarreal. The newspaper claims that it was an opportunity for both  clubs to discuss the transfer of Benteke.

The Italian champions could lose Alvaro Morata in the summer and if they fail to land Edinson Cavani, the Liverpool striker is an option for them. They are also interested in Benteke’s compatriot, Romelu Lukaku.

However, the Everton striker is likely to cost a lot of money and therefore Juventus will consider signing Benteke on a cut-price deal.

Benteke has fallen behind Sturridge, Origi, Firmino and possible Ings in the pecking order at Anfield and a move away is best for all parties involves. The Belgian is on big wages and Liverpool will do well to get him off their books this summer.
