In today’s edition of BILD, the German outlet have proposed the possibility of Klopp to Liverpool.
The Merseyside club have been linked with several quality managers to replace Brendan Rodgers, after the Northern Irishman missed out on Champions League qualification with the Reds.
After a remarkable season last year, Liverpool have failed miserably, even after an influx of more than a 100 million pounds. Several of Liverpool’s new signings are yet to make their mark and some are even being linked with a move away from the club, only months after joining the Reds.
Amidst all the transfer failures, Rodgers’ team selection and tactics have been questionable at crucial junctures of the season. To sum it up, the general consensus around the club is that Rodgers might be a dead man walking.
According to reports, Carlo Ancelotti and Jurgen Klopp are the two top names linked with the Anfield job, and both names would drive the sale of Premier League Tickets for Liverpool games considering the exciting, and most importantly successful, football their teams are known to play.
Following his unfortunate sacking at Real Madrid, Carlo confirmed that he will take a year off and undergo an operation later this summer.
According to Fabrizio Romano, part of the Di Marzio staff (one of the more reliable news outlets), Liverpool approached the Italian with a proposal of managing them. However, Carlo insisted on taking a break.
#Liverpool had a contact with #Ancelotti some days ago, when Real decided to fire him. But Carlo replied he wants to stop for a year. #LFC

In that case, Klopp remains the only top quality alternative without a club this summer. The German will take charge of Dortmund one last time against Wolfsburg in the domestic cup final and is thought to be open to a move to the Premier League.
The Dortmund boss confirmed earlier this season that England is his preferred choice, because of the language.
In an interview with BT Sport, Klopp stated that he could manage in England, “Because it is the only country where I speak a bit of the language. Then, when someone calls me, we can talk about. “
Further, Guardian’ German correspondent Raphael Honigstein stated earlier that Jurgen Klopp admires Liverpool as a club and could relish the chance to rebuild the fallen giants, if given the chance.
Aside of the sentimental reasons, language and the outstanding fanbase, there are other reasons why Liverpool and Klopp are a perfect match.
Liverpool’ philosophy of playing aggressive, attacking football is a main feature of Klopp’ philosophy. Relentless pressing and goal scoring is what Klopp is all about. It is all ‘heavy metal stuff’, like he says.
Further, the chance to work with so many talented young players would be a great draw for the Dortmund manager, who has developed several young players over the years and turned them into global superstars.
And finally, perhaps most importantly, Klopp is well capable of working under financial restraints. In all honesty, Liverpool are no financial powerhouse, although they are much better than Dortmund. Klopp’s ability and experience of working with a limited budget and his coaching of youth fits right in with FSG’ model.
