After we had reported yesterday that Chelsea had agreed on a €33m deal with Fiorentina for Juan Cuadrado, we have an update on the transfer. According to the trusted and reliable TMW website from Italy who have cited Sport Italia, the Colombian is expected to fly to England in the weekend to undergo his scheduled medical for Chelsea.
Cuadrado’s deal will see Egyptian winger Mohammed Salah heading the other way to Fiorentina on a 6 month loan deal. Chelsea though will be still paying the player’s salary. Cuadrdao was heavily linked with Manchester United in the summer but despite intense speculations stayed at Fiorentina.
The Florence based side were desperate to hold on to their prized asset but it was only a matter of time before they would have to accept a whopping offer to part with their prized asset. The winger will bring a lot of variety and versatility to the Stamford Bridge side given he can play either as a right wing back or a winger if required.
Cuadrado’s pace and trickery will be instrumental for the Blues’ attack and with Oscar, Hazard and Diego Costa steamrolling past Premir League oppositions, Jose Mourinho’s side could be simply unplayable.
