Probably it’s time for Manchester United PR group to meet the press and stop encouraging the reporters from speculating too much on the club’s present managerial situation.

United have lot to play for this season and they can end the campaign on a high under Louis van Gaal. It is quite possible that Jose Mourinho would take charge of United at the end of the season, but by allowing the press to dominate the headlines commenting on a potential new manager on a daily basis and drifting focus from on-field issues, United are only putting pressure on their existing manager.

It is indeed unfortunate that Van Gaal has been forced to dismiss the ‘Mourinho to United’ transfer rumours in his almost every press conference.

There have been all sorts of rumours and speculations going on in the media. Few weeks ago, it was reported that Mourinho was merely confident of managing United. It quickly took a concrete shape and his move to United was finalised, a ‘done-deal’ scenario, with UK press giving undue credence to reports emerging out from Spain.

And now, Mourinho, has been promised a massive transfer war-chest and the Portuguese has reportedly started contacting players that he wants to bring at Old Trafford!

According to reports from Catalan newspaper Sport, Mourinho will be given a massive €300m transfer budget to sign players of his choice.

The Portuguese has already decided that Mata and Fellaini won’t be a part of his squad next summer, and in their place he wants to bring three world class players from Real Madrid – Gareth Bale, Raphael Varane, and Luka Modric.

The aforementioned players are keen to leave the club (really? when?) as per Sport, while Mourinho has already spoken with Modric and Varane about a potential move to Manchester United.

The catalan press are really good at taking the p*** out of Barcelona’s rival club Real Madrid, aren’t they?
