Chelsea manager Antonio Conte will be officially unveiled by the London giants on Thursday. The former Italy manager’s biggest dilemma at his new club will be to find a solution to fit existing players according to his methods and plans.
For instance, he may find problems to integrate Cesc Fabregas into the team. The Spaniard is a world class player whose passing ability is unparalleled but at the same time, he needs a free role to excel. In theory, Cesc is not an ideal fit in Conte’s footballing philosophy.
Conte will be looking to change the system in a 4-2-4 formation which could leave the former Barcelona star out of favour. The Italian likes midfielders who are energetic and put in a lot of defensive shifts.
The players Chelsea have been recently linked with – N’Golo Kante, Radja Nainggolan and Andre Gomes – suggest that Conte is keen to sign a midfielder before the start of next season.
According to reports in Mirror, Manchester United could line up a stunning move for Fabregas this summer. Jose Mourinho reportedly is a big fan of the Spain midfielder and both of them share a good relationship.
United are reportedly targeting to bring back Paul Pogba at the club this summer. The Red Devils have reportedly made a lucrative offer but there is a possibility that the French midfielder might stay at Juventus for another season. In that case, United look for options elsewhere and Mourinho could strengthen the midfield by linking up with Fabregas once again.
Signing a world class midfielder is a top priority for Mourinho and he could be looking to strengthen the midfield by linking up with Fabregas once again.
Meeting Fabregas’ reported £156k-per-week wages not be a problem for United but it is highly unlikely Chelsea would sell a top player to their direct rivals.
