La Liga expert Guillem Balague gave his inside knowledge about the transfer situations of David de Gea and Javier Hernandez.
Manchester United striker Hernandez joined Real Madrid on a season long loan in the summer and despite putting in impressive performances recently, Balague says “it’s not a priority” for Los Blancos to convert his deal into a permanent move.
Madrid recently asked United to allow them more time to consider whether they would want to sign Chicharito permanently, as they want to take the decision in the summer rather than now.
In that scenario, Hernandez is likely to return to United after the end of the season. The Mexican is considered surplus to requirements at Old Trafford and Louis van Gaal will be looking to sell him to the highest bidder. If the reports are to believed, United are considering selling him to Southampton, as a part of the deal to lure England full-back Nathaniel Clyne.
Balague also commented on David de Gea’s contract saga, saying United are trying to convince him to stay with a massive offer on the table, but no decisions have been taken yet.
Balague notes: “He wants to see what Casillas is doing – Real Madrid is trying to push Casillas out and Manchester United is putting a massive offer on the table, so no decision made there yet.”
Manchester Evening News reports today that United are trying to come to an agreement with De Gea’s agent Jorge Mendes, by offering Radamel Falcao (client of Mendes) a chance to continue at the club next season.
