Former Liverpool star Jamie Carragher has explained why he thinks Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard is better than his Rangers counterpart Alfredo Morelos, dubbing the Hoops star the best player in Scotland.
The Sky Sports pundit was asked the question during a live Q&A on Instagram, and he replied: “Edouard up front, the Celtic striker. Stevie (Gerrard) will be in bed, don’t worry about it. Morelos gets sent off too much”
While the Frenchman continues to solidify his reputation as one of the best young strikers in Europe, the Rangers star’s disciplinary shortcomings continue to tarnish his image.
Morelos has 12 league goals in 26 appearances for the Light Blues this term, with 14 others coming in the Europa League.
The 23-year-old has been sent off twice this term in the Premiership while he was shown his marching orders on four occasions last season.
Morelos has missed some crucial games as a result, and that has proven costly to Rangers’ ambitions.
However, Edouard hardly goes into the referee’s book, with only seven yellow cards to his name across all competitions in three seasons at Celtic.
The 22-year-old has helped the Hoops to the top of the Premiership table as they look to make it nine titles in a row.
He is currently nine goals clear at the top of the charts, with Celtic 13 points clear of Rangers at the top of the league table.
The Hoops star is favourite to emerge as the Player of the Year following an incredible individual season, and is without a doubt the best player in the land.
