Roma president James Pallotta has once again ruled out the possibility of Kevin Strootman moving to Manchester United in the January transfer window.

Strootman is one of the prime targets of Manchester United, and there were suggestions that the Red Devils could make a formal move for him in January. Also, some so-called-FIFA-agent claimed yesterday that United had made a €38m bid.

However, speaking to Roma Radio, the Giallorossi President has refuted such claims and made a bold statement saying Strootman will not join Old Trafford.

“We’d be first in the League if it wasn’t for the injuries to [Leandro] Castan and Strootman,” Pallotta declared, via Football Italia

“Strootman will not go to [Manchester] United.

“Holebas and Manolas are integrating, and we’re convinced that we’ll fight for the Champions League.

This is not the first time the Roma president made public statement about Strootman’s transfer rumours.

Back in October, Pallotta said United or any potential club need to pay around €80m if they are serious in landing the Dutch midfielder.

“It is just not happening,” Roma’s billionaire owner told BBC Sport at the Leaders in Football Conference.

“I have told the papers that they should stop wasting paper. We don’t have any interest in selling Kevin.”

He says that if United want to discuss about his transfer, they would be courteous to listen to it, but even a €80m bid won’t be enough to price him away from Roma.

“If United wants to talk, we will sit down and listen to them. Yet even with a bid of €80 million, we will not agree,” he added

Strootman himself has hinted that he is not willing to move in January. In a recent facebook post, he said that he is looking forward to playing in Europa League knock out rounds starting from February.
