According to trusted and reliable Gianluca Di Marzio website, Serie A Champions have reportedly reached an agreement in principle to sign Manchester United left back Patrice Evra. The report comes as a major surprise after the French left back had earlier agreed terms with the Red Devils over a contract extension for another season.
However it is now believed that the Bianconerri are willing to pay Evra €3.5m per season if he decides to switch loyalties for the Old Lady in the summer. Antonio Conte’s side now only need an agreement with Manchester United for their consent to part ways with Evra.
It also appears that United are willing to let go the left back after having securing the services of Luke Shaw from Southampton. The acquisition of Shaw would rightly mean that Evra won’t be guaranteed a starting eleven spot as new manager Louis Van Gaal is set to take charge at Old Trafford after the World Cup ends in Brazil.
However on the hindsight, the Red Devils would be short on cover in the left back spot after Dutch youngster Alexander Buttner left the club to join Russian side Dynamo Moscow ‘to win trophies’.
