Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has been working outdoors and could be in contention to face Manchester City.
The England striker is nursing a hip injury and has yet to play for Jurgen Klopp. He has been working outdoors with club physios, and will continue to progress during the international break.
Sturridge himself has suggested last night that he is on the verge of a comeback by posting a cryptic message on his instagram account.
According to reports from The Mirror, Sturridge will undergo few specially arranged sessions this week at Melwood, and he could join the full contact sessions later, depending on his progress.
And if all goes well, the England striker could be in contention to return to his former club Manchester City on 21st November.
Liverpool suffered their first defeat under Klopp last week, when the Reds were beaten 2-1 by Crystal Palace in the Premier League at Anfield.
The Reds sit 10th the league table after round 12 of the Premier League, and can hardly afford to drop more points if they are to retain any hopes of finishing in top four.
Manchester United winger Antonio Valencia is facing a long spell on the sidelines after undergoing foot surgery on an injury he picked up during a 0-0 draw with Manchester City.
According to reports from The Sun, Valencia could be ruled out for up to five months, following his foot surgery.
The Ecuador international picked up the injury during the first half in the Manchester Derby, but carried on playing with pain, and further aggravated the injury in the process.
“He had a kick on his foot in the first half and then I let [Matteo] Darmian warm up on the touchline,” said manager Louis van Gaal, as per Manchester Evening News.
“But then he played further. However, at the end, he could not continue.”
Valencia posted a message on his twitter account after undergoing a foot surgery:
Thank God came out well from the operation. Now think about my recovery.⚽️ pic.twitter.com/CHcvc4SMZc

With Matteo Darmian currently struggling for form, Louis van Gaal will be counting on Phil Jones to step up in absence of Valencia. Alternatively, Ashley Young can be used as an auxiliary right-back, if Van Gaal wishes to bring Jones in central defence.
