On Monday, 29 November, the NAP of the Day with SportsLens horse racing tipsters is Buzz De Turcoing. He runs in the 3m novices’ limited handicap chase at Ayr (2:45). This horse appeals as the best value Bet of the Day at odds of 15/8 after an eye-catching effort last time out.

Trained by Samuel Drinkwater, Buzz De Turcoing previously won the third of his Irish Points for Donnchadh Doyle. That suggests he could leave his hurdles form, which isn’t too shabby, well behind now sent novice chasing. A career best on his bow over fences last time out off the same mark is why the seven-year-old Maresca Sorrento gelding rates the NAP of the Day. Want more detailed reasons to back this horse? Why will NAP of the Day Buzz De Turcoing win?
Drinkwater’s relatively small Worcestershire outfit had a recent winner at Lingfield, so the stable is clearly in good heart. In Buzz De Turcoing, the yard has a horse with useful bits and pieces of form. His sixth on Rules debut at Cheltenham reads better the bare result considering the winner, Dashel Drasher, went on to land the Grade 1 Ascot Chase this February. Two starts later, Buzz De Turcoing chased home Glynn at Doncaster.
He was only beaten about eight lengths by Third Time Lucki when third on reappearance at Wetherby last autumn. Again, the winner has developed into a revelation over fences winning both of his novice chase starts at Cheltenham, including a Grade 2 at the November Meeting. The fifth and eighth home have also won over the larger obstacles since, so that gives the form a solid look.
This may be the right time of year to catch Buzz De Turcoing, as he recorded his last win at Haydock at the beginning of last December. He was 3 1/2 lengths too good for Torn And Frayed, who two of his subsequent hurdle races. Going back down in trip off the back of that success over almost 3m on his final two starts of last season simply didn’t suit Buzz De Turcoing at all.
As he split two types with better hurdle ratings on reappearance and chase debut at Wetherby in Ashtown Lad and Barbados Buck’s last time out, he looks well worth a crack on his handicap chase debut off the same mark. A £25 bet on Buzz De Turcoing at his current price returns £71.88 if he can go one place better in an easier race. Should he fail to do so, then QuinnBet refunds the losing stake as a free bet up to £25.
