This Saturday, 27 November, is a huge day in British horse racing, so SportsLens experts have a great NAP of the Day in Nina The Terrier. She runs in the Listed 2m mares’ novice hurdle that opens day two of the Winter Carnival at Newbury (12:10). Alan King’s charge appeals as the best value Bet of the Day as odds of 15/8.

A five-year-old daughter of Milan, Nina The Terrier has won both of her hurdles outings this season so far in fine style. The last of those was over this course and distance. She also meets re-opposing rivals off better terms, so that is why Nina The Terrier rates the NAP of the Day on Saturday. Why will NAP of the Day Nina The Terrier win?
It’s clear that Nina The Terrier has stepped up on her bumper form with three wins from three over obstacles. After landing a Warwick maiden hurdle in May, she came back from a summer break and followed-up nicely at Chepstow. Regular jockey Tom Bellamy only needed to push Nina The Terrier along briefly and she surged four lengths clear of the field.
The big question was could she hang with highly-regarded types. Nina The Terrier dispelled any doubts by landing her hurdles hat-trick over today’s course and distance when last in action. Defying a penalty, she quickened clear on the run-in for a 2 3/4 lengths success over re-opposing runner-up Ahorsewithnoname.
Nina The Terrier meets both that one and the third home, Elle Est Belle, on better terms in this Listed event. She conceded 7lb to the pair earlier this month but now only gives 3lb away. There is no obvious reason why either should turn the tables on Nina The Terrier some 4lb worse off at the weights. It may be that her main market rivals, particularly Elle Est Belle, will be seen to best effect over further.
After already demonstrating she can concede weight to decent mares, Nina The Terrier just has to be the NAP of the Day for 27 November. A £25 punt on her at those current odds returns £71.88. If Nina The Terrier doesn’t make it four from four over hurdles here, fear not. QuinnBet refunds the stake up to £25 as a free bet.
