Oh This Is Us, some six lengths behind in fourth, came out and landed the Diomed Stakes during the Derby Festival at Epsom. Stormy Antarctic advertised the form himself when going one better in the Festival Stakes at Goodwood when next in action.
He bested fellow veteran Desert Encounter that day, and the runner-up went on to fill the same spot in the Canadian International at Woodbine. Stormy Antarctic was then fourth in the Group 3 Rose Of Lancaster at Haydock, but home in front of Euchen Glen. That one came into the contest after two wins at Sandown including the Brigadier Gerard and a neck second at Glorious Goodwood.
Stormy Antarctic shaped well on his final outing of the turf season when chasing home Zakouski in the Ben Marshall at Newmarket. The winner was repeating in the race from last year. Only one other horse in the Hyde Stakes field has a rating of over 100, so this looks a great opportunity for Stormy Antarctic to win. A £25 punt at his current odds returns £87.50.
