The horse racing NAP of the Day for Monday, 22 November, for SportsLens experts is Ramble West in the opening 2m mares’ maiden hurdle at Ayr (12:30). She represents an in-form stable, so looks a solid Bet of the Day at awesome odds of 11/8.

Trained by Donald McCain, Ramble West bolted up in a Musselburgh bumper and now goes over the smaller obstacles. A five-year-old daughter of Leading Light, she looks a potentially smart recruit to hurdles from the Irish Point sphere. It’s for that reason why she Ramble West rates the NAP of the Day here. Why will NAP of the Day Ramble West win?
Today’s Bet of the Day placed in two Point-to-Points in the Emerald Isle when in the care of Colin Bowe. Ramble West chased home subsequent Hereford bumper winner Ballybough Mary on her debut between the flag at Curaghmore. She then filled the same spot behind First Glance at Cork, going down by three-quarters of a length at the Mallow venue.
Ramble West took an unlucky tumble four out in a Fairyhouse Point won by Optional Mix. That one has gone on run a number of fine races over hurdles, scoring last time out at Clonmel. It’s no so much Ramble West’s form between the flags but the manner of her debut success for the McCain team that makes her so appealing as NAP of the Day for 22 November.
She absolutely trounced her rivals at another Scottish track in Musselburgh earlier this month. Ramble West led going very easily two out under Brian Hughes, who again takes the ride. As she went further and further clear with the former champion jockey giving her a nudge, this was a visually impressive 21-length romp.
McCain has a 23 per cent strike rate with his runners at Ayr and the yard has been in great form this autumn. Hughes is looking for his 100th winner of the campaign and may well get it on Ramble West here. A £25 bet on her returns almost £60 at her current price. Should Ramble West fail to make a successful hurdles debut, then QuinnBet refunds the stake as a free bet.
