Trained by Evan Williams for one of his biggest owners supporting the stable, Coconut Splash has run some cracking races in defeat over fences. However, today could well be the day when he gets his head in front. It’s for that reason this six-year-old son of Stowaway rates the NAP of the Day on 1 December. Read on as our experts make the case for this horse as the top Bet of the Day today:

Why will NAP of the Day Coconut Splash win?
Backing horses trained in Wales by Williams blind running at Haydock over the years would see punters well in profit. Off a £1 level stake, we would all be £18.75 ahead, In Coconut Splash, the yard has an Irish Point winner who needs at least this trip to be seen to best effect.
After finishing a close-up third on chase debut in a novices’ limited handicap at Chepstow last November, he went one better behind Messire Des Obeaux at Wincanton. The winner went on to land the Grade 2 Dipper Novices’ Chase, so Coconut Splash clearly bumped into one that day.
Following a mid-winter break, it was a similar story at Wetherby over this trip where he had Chantry House to contend with. Coconut Splash pulled some 16 lengths clear of everything else, though, and the winner went on to Grade 1 glory at the Cheltenham Festival and Aintree Grand National meeting. Chantry House now has an official rating of 162, so getting within about three lengths of him reads very well.
Coconut Splash round dropping back at Exeter that bit too sharp for him on reappearance. He should come on for the run and appreciate the extra distance. A £25 punt on Coconut Splash returns £63.50 at his current price. Should he fail to win, then QuinnBet refunds the losing stake as a free bet.
