Juventus youngster Sebastian Giovinco shall not be making the switch over to the Premier League club West Ham United.
The 21-year highly rated Italian striker has been linked with a move out of Turin since the start of this season as in spite of being hugely talented he has found himself warming the bench for Juventus. Juve coach Claudio Ranieri seemingly does not rate Giovinco or thing him good enough to merit a place in the first xi week in and week out, not at least at the moment.
This has led to speculation surrounding the player’s future at the club. In recent weeks Giovinco has been linked with a move to West Ham United. Hammers manager Gianfranco Zola himself admitted on Monday that he would fancy the player playing at Upton Park.
But Giovinco’s agent Andrea D’Amico has refuted claims that his client is leaving the club anyime soon and insists that Giovinco shall carry on playing at Juventus.
D’Amico is quoted as saying, “The times of going out on loan to gain experience have finished. Everyone knows [Gianfranco] Zola admires Giovinco but he will not be moving to England as far as I am concerned.
“Sebastian is a Juventus player and he just needs to be patient and wait for his moment to arrive. Every player wants to get on the pitch and this is normal.
“Even champion players get annoyed when they are substituted. The game against Reggina is a perfect example. Giovinco came on, won a penalty and then left it for [Alessandro] Del Piero.”
Nevertheless rumours persist that Giovinco is unhappy playing off the bench for most of the time at Juventus and howsoever D’Amico may try, speculations surrounding the player’s future would linger on.
