Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport has published an utter garbage of a transfer rumour story that would put even our English tabloids into shame.
The pink newspaper claim that Liverpool are looking to sign Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal to replace their departing skipper Steven Gerrard.
Juventus are also planning to replace Paul Pogba with Roma’s highly rated midfielder Radja Nainggolan, who is also a reported target of Manchester United.
Isn’t it bizarre?
Vidal was heavily linked with a move to Manchester United last summer, but the Red Devils are no longer interested in him, rather they have shifted their focus to his team mate Pogba instead. According to Guardian, Pogba have emerged as a top target for United, who would be willing to pay €90m for his services.
Nainggolan on the other hand has been one of the star performers for Roma this season. The Belgian has caught the attention of Juventus officials and GDS claims the Turin giants could be looking to sign him, should Pogba leave the club.
Vidal has made 28 appearances for Juventus this season, and has scored seven goals in the Serie A. It would be a great coup for Liverpool should they able to convince Vidal to join Anfield, but then again, why would the Chilean be interested to leave Juventus and join a club that cannot offer him Champions League football?
