Chelsea striker Fernando Torres has lived rather a cursed life at Stamford Bridge.
Having arrived in a blaze of glory in January 2011, with the Chelsea faithful dying to see how well the Spaniard would link up with their resident blunderbuss Didier Drogba, Torres’ Chelsea career has spiraled downwards in such an embarrassing way that he has become one of the great mysteries of the modern Premier League era: Where did the superstriker Fernando Torres go?
Well, to the horror of Blues fans everywhere, it seems he won’t be going very far this summer, with Jose Mourinho revealing on Sunday that the striker is set to stay at the club, with Cameroonian hitman Samuel Eto’o to move on to pastures new:
Jose: ‘Eto’o has finished his contract but I think Torres will be at Chelsea next season.’ #CFC

Inter Milan have been strongly linked with a move for the Spaniard in recent weeks, and it was mooted that his winning goal against Cardiff was to be his last strike in a Chelsea shirt. But this has changed following Mourinho’s post match revelation, with the 30-year-old now apparently staying in West London.
Predictably, this has not been well-received by the majority of Chelsea fans, who have become so exasperated with the £50m man that they would rather see him flushed out of Stamford Bridge than give him more time to find the form that made him the most feared striker in the land when at Liverpool.
