When the trusted and reliable Gianluca Di Marzio, reports a transfer rumour, be rest assured, they turn out to be true almost every time. The respectable Italian website have claimed that Liverpool striker Fabio Borini is set to leave the Anfield side and that his transfer is edging closer as we write.
The 24 year old has endured a misadventure ever since he signed in the summer of 2012 for the Reds. To be very true though, the Italian hasn’t also been given enough chances to make an impression for the Anfield side by manager Brendan Rodgers. Surely, it’s now better to believe that his career lies away from the Red half of Merseyside.
There have been claims that a number of Serie A clubs including Fiorentina, Lazio, Inter Milan and Bologna all interested in the player but there have been no real developments in the summer.
The Liverpool Echo however report that fellow Premier Legaue side Tottenham are interested in Borini. Yes, they are, believe me and Spurs could actually be making a very late move for the striker right at the fag end of the transfer window.
Tottenham have been frustrated so far in their pursuit of West Brom striker Saido Berahino as the Baggies have been claiming that the English international is not for sale at any price. Things change quickly in football when money, fatter paycheques and greener pastures await but Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino is taking no chances.
The North London side have thus earmarked Borini as the backup option for Berahino. But would the Italian really make the grade at White Hart Lane? Well, I don’t know. If you do, let us know through comments below. I would love to read them.
