Eden Hazard was unanimously voted as the best player in England last season. However it hasn’t quite gone according to plan for Chelsea’s coveted Belgian since then.

The explosive Chelsea winger has struggled to pick up from where left off last season and has lacked in confidence so far. The adventurous attacking midfielder has looked bereft of ideas going forward and that has turned Chelsea into a predictable attacking unit.

Last season the Belgian guided Chelsea to a league title with his all action displays and was often the man to drag them out of difficult situations, all by himself.

Although Chelsea are in a bizarre sort of slump where most of their players are playing badly, Hazard has been particularly shocking.

The former Lille player lacks the confidence to take on players and has seemed incapable of linking Chelsea’s midfield to their attack.

With rumours flying around that PSG and Real Madrid might come calling for the Chelsea star, we look at three reasons why Chelsea should cash in on their prized asset now.

Current Value

Hazard signed a 5 year deal with Chelsea earlier this year and is at the peak of his market value. The Belgian international had a fabulous season last year and a poor 3 month spell will not worry his potential suitors.

Hazard’s teammates have claimed previously that he dreams of playing for Real Madrid and if Chelsea need to sell someday, this is the perfect time to cash in on him and make a huge profit.

Latest reports from Belgium claim that PSG are willing to offer around 70 million pounds for the Chelsea star, an offer that would be more than double of what Chelsea paid for him.

Head turned by other clubs

Eden Hazard is devoid of confidence but his approach this season tells a different story.

The Chelsea winger has often looked dejected and disinterested. Let alone working hard for his team, getting on the pitch seems to be a hardwork for Eden Hazard.

It could well be the case that interest from Real Madrid and PSG has turned his head and he is considering a move away in the summer.

There is no point holding on to a player that does not want to play for you, cashing in would the best for all parties involved.

Strained relations with the manager

Several reports has claimed that Hazard and Mourinho are not enjoying the best of relationships. In that case, a move away from Chelsea would be the best option for the unhappy Belgian.

There have been question marks over Hazard’s fitness and work rate as far as Mourinho is concerned.

Furthermore, the Belgian is unhappy with the manager’s methods which he believes will burn him out. Hazard is keen to play more expressive football which is not a possibility under Jose Mourinho.

It will be interesting to see how Chelsea and Hazard respond to these offers from other European heavyweights. Unless something changes drastically, Chelsea are set to miss out on Champions league next season and if that is the case, no one can blame Hazard for wanting to leave.
