One of the major reasons why Chelsea are performing so well in the league (undefeated & leading the PL table) because their new players have gelled in nicely and are firing all cylinders at the same time. Diego Costa has been banging in goals despite him struggling with injuries at times while assists come to Fabregas as naturally as leaves to a tree.
Thibaut Courtois has replaced Petr Cech as the club’s first choice goal keeper while Eden Hazard (his third season at Chelsea, already a senior at 23!) has been simply outstanding earning plaudits from all corners. Three Chelsea players have already made the cut in the 23-man Ballon d’Or shortlist; more joy for the fans, as four Chelsea players have made it into top 20 player performance-rankings released by EA Sports.
EA Sports player performance index has been updated after nine rounds of Premier League matches. The rankings are set on a number of criteria, based on which a player collect points. Diego Costa, courtesy of his nine goals in seven matches, is leading the chart with 286 points.
Eden Hazard is 4th in the ranking, only point ahead of fifth placed Cesc Fabregas. Thibaut Courtois, who made it into 23-man Ballon d’Or list doesn’t break into top 20 here, but Brazilian midfielder Oscar (20) does with 164 points.
Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez has moved into 10th spot while Manchester United’s record signing Angel di Maria is at 14 with 184 points.
