Manchester United target and Borussia Dortmund midfielder Marco Reus is coy on his future with the German club after refusing to confirm whether he has been offered a new deal.
The 24 year old who is a Manchester United target has two years left in his current deal with the Westfalenstadion club but Dortmund are prepared to offer the player a new contract which will keep him with the yellow and blacks till 2017.
There have been reports that Reus has a €35m buyout clause which will becomesactive in 2015, hence Dortmund are worried of losing their prized asset if a substantial bid is tabled in the summer.
Although the German star insisted he is happy with life at the Westfalenstadion but refused to be drawn on his contract situation.
“I’m not saying anything about my contract,” Reus told Bild.
“But I do have the time to emphasise how good I feel at Dortmund.”
The German international has had a dazzling season with Dortmund scoring 21 goals and grabbing 14 assists in 37 appearances this campaign. Manchester United are desperate to bring in a world class midfielder who can pull the strings in the middle of the park.
Reports have suggested that Dutch Legend Louis Van Gaal is in line to take charge at Old Trafford and the Dortmund star is believed to be high on his potential transfer wishlist.
Reus currently earns €5m per year at Dortmund according to Bild and the German national daily have reported that the club are proposing to raise his wages to €7m making him the best pad player. It is also believed that Jurgen Klopp’s side are also desperate to remove the transfer clause in his contract to fend off potential suitors in the transfer market.
