Manchester United have confirmed their midfielder Anderson have left Old Trafford and completed a switch to Internacional on Tuesday.
The 26-year-old returned to his native Brazil on a free transfer and signed a new four-year deal with Internacional.
A statement on United’s official website read, “Anderson has agreed a return to his native Brazil with Internacional on a free transfer.”
“The midfielder, who has signed a four-year deal, joined the Reds in 2007 from FC Porto and helped the team win the Champions League in his first season, memorably firing home a crucial penalty during the shoot-out with Chelsea in Moscow.”
“Formerly with Gremio, he is heading back to his home town of Porto Alegre and his farewell performance for the club came in the Under-21s’ 2-1 victory over Liverpool last Monday. Everybody at United would like to wish Anderson the best of luck for the future,” it added.
The Brazilian now joins Darren Fletcher to move away from Old Trafford in the winter transfer window. The Scottish international joined West Bromwich Albion in the final hours on Monday.
