DONE DEAL: Jose Mourinho allows another World Cup player leave Chelsea

AtsuChelsea have confirmed on Wednesday that they have allowed their winger Christian Atsu to join Everton on a season-long.

The West London club signed the 22-year-old from FC Porto last summer and the Ghana international spent the last season away from Stamford Bridge on-loan at Vitesse Arnhem.

A statement on Chelsea’s official website read, “Christian Atsu has today (Wednesday, August 13) joined Everton on loan until the end of the season.”

“The winger joined Chelsea last summer from FC Porto, impressing while on loan with Vitesse Arnhem during 2013/14. The 22-year-old was a member of Ghana’s World Cup squad in Brazil, appearing in all three of their group games.”

Atsu now follows another form Chelsea star Romelu Lukaku to Goodison Park. The Belgium international joined Roberto Martinez’s side earlier this summer after the Blues manager allowed the striker to join the Merseyside club. Everton signed Lukaku for a club-record transfer fee of £28.5m.
