Chelsea striker Diego Costa is expected to extend his contract at Chelsea this season.
Italian outlet Tutto Mercato Web are reporting that Costa is in talks with Chelsea regarding an improved new deal and a meeting has been scheduled for the next few days. The report also claims that Chinese clubs are interested in the Spanish international and therefore the Premier League giants are looking to tie him down to a long-term contract as soon as possible.
Apparently, Roman Abramovich has already informed the interested parties that Costa is not for sale and that they should stop approaching the player or the club regarding a potential transfer.
Chelsea recently completed the big money sale of Oscar to Chinese club Shanghai SIPG and will not want to lose their best player midway through the season. Costa has been sensational for Conte so far and has scored 14 times in the league. If he can keep up his current form for a few more months, Chelsea are likely to end up as champions.
Recently, Costa revealed that he was close to returning to Atletico Madrid during the summer of 2016 but the move never happened. Chelsea will be delighted to have kept him at the club and will look to do so for as long as possible by offering him a bumper new deal.
