Chelsea’s €100m target: I love Manchester United

Cristiano Ronaldo has said time and again that he wishes to retire at Real Madrid, but at the same time, he hasn’t ruled out a move after his current contract expires at the La Liga club.

And the three times Ballon d’Or winner has no shortage of admirers. While there have been a reported interest from PSG and Chelsea, Ronaldo has always expressed his desire to return to his old club, Manchester United.

Sky Sports pundit Guillem Balague wrote in his biography on Ronaldo that the Portuguese dreams of joining Manchester United again. Ronaldo appeared The Jonathan Ross Show recently where he reiterated his love for Manchester United and has ruled out a possible return to the Old Trafford club.

As people know I like Manchester United, I love that club. In my mind I want to finish at the top level. I want to finish with dignity.

Premier League champions Chelsea are thought to be the latest club to have registered an interest in Ronaldo.

Spanish newspaper AS reported on 12th November that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is planning to bring Ronaldo to Stamford Bridge, and the Russian tycoon is ready to dish out over €100m to secure his signature.

Furthermore, Chelsea are looking to recoup the money through player sales, with the likes of Eden Hazard, Nemanja Matic and Oscar, are likely to be sold.
