Manchester United have confirmed the transfer of Alexander Buttner to Dynamo Moscow on their official website.
The left-back joined the Red Devils in the summer of 2012 from Vitesse Arnhem. However, since his switch to Old Trafford, the Dutch defender has seen his first team appearances being limited in the last two seasons.
His debut year with United was Sir Alex Ferguson’s final season and played a bit part role. Under David Moyes’ reign, Buttner’s situation did not change as again his game time was restricted with both the Scotsmen fielding French international Patrice Evra in the left-back position.
United need not worry with Buttner’s departure as they have already have cover in that area. On Friday, the Red Devils announced the signing of Luke Shaw, who arrived from Southampton.
The 18-year-old will join Evra as the two left-back’s in the squad for the next season and the England international will be a long-term replacement for the Frenchman at Old Trafford.
