Inter Milan president Erick Thohir has revealed that the club will do everything possible to bring Manchester City star Yaya Toure to Italy in the summer transfer window.
The 32-year-old has strongly been linked with a move to Italy as his future with the former Premier League champions looks uncertain. The Ivorian international’s agent had admitted that he is likely to leave the Etihad after the end of this season.
Now, Inter chief has confirmed that Serie A club will look to sign the former Barcelona midfielder when the transfer window re-opens.
“How many chances there are to sign him? I can’t say, but what is clear is that we will try in each way to bring him to Inter,” Thohir toldItalian daily Il Tempo.
A move to Italy will see Toure reunite with his former manager Roberto Mancini.
Meanwhile, Wilfried Bony has urged the midfield star and his compatriot to continue with his current employers. The striker joined Manuel Pellegrini’s side from Swansea City and he claims Toure influenced him to join City.
“I talk to him about it all the time. He knows what I think. He brought me here so he needs to stay,” Bony said.
“He told me about this being a big club, how we were the champions. We hope he stays, he’s a big player here and we know everything he is doing for the club.”
City are interested in signing Juventus star midfielder Paul Pogba in the summer transfer window. The French international has been linked with a big money move as several clubs are after his trail.
Sky Sports report claims City have opened talks with the former Manchester United man. Should Toure leave the Citizens, Pogba could replace him at the Etihad.
