Manchester United fans hold on to your breath. Chilean newspaper Le Tercera has sensationally claimed this morning that Manchester United is a step closer to sign Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal. They have also made a bold statement claiming that the Red Devils manager Louis Van Gaal is likely to give the legendary number 7 shirt to the 27 year old.
The story claims that Vidal wasn’t upto his 100% fitness while featuring for the Old Lady for a friendly against Cesena in their build up to the 2014-15 season. The midfielder as it is known was operated in his right knee just before the World Cup.
It has been mentioned that Van Gaal has asked the club’s Executive Vice-chairman Ed Woodward to speed up negotiations to sign Vidal, an indication that the Dutch legend is desperate to sign the player. United seriously lack quality in the middle of the park and apart from new signing Ander Herrerra, Van Gaal is not satisfied with Ashley Young, Nani and Marouane Fellaini as he aims to take the Premier League giants back on track after a disastrous 2013-14 season. Moreover the 62 year old likes Vidal from the time he was at teh managerial helm at Bayern Munich
The Red Devils are willing to offer Vidal a astonishing salary of £200,00 a week which is thought to be double of what he earns at Turin.
Earlier today we had reported that Sebastian Giovinco’s agent Andrea D’Amico had clearly mentioned that he expected Vidal will leave the Serie A champions in the summer transfer window to make the switch to Old Trafford.
Gianluca Di Marzio staff David Amoyal too feels Vidal will join United this summer.
Not for me to say if D'Amico is reliable or not, I can just tell I personally always felt Vidal could leave Juve this summer
