Mino Raiola has been involved in three blockbuster deals for his clients in the 2016 summer transfer window. Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan joined Manchester United in July while Paul Pogba is set to make a stunning return to his old club this month on a record transfer deal.
The Italian super agent could yet be involved in another heavyweight deal in the coming days for his client, the Everton striker Romelu Lukaku, who is keen on a return to Chelsea.
Lukaku joined Chelsea from Anderlecht in 2011 for a fee reported to be around €12m. He made only 10 appearances for the Blues in three seasons but impressed during loan spells with West Bromwich Albion and Everton, where he scored 17 and 15 goals respectively in consecutive seasons.
The Belgian joined Everton on a permanent transfer in 2014 for a club-record fee of £28m. Since then, he has scored 45 goals in the last two seasons for the Toffees, including 25 goals in 45 games in all competitions in 2015-16, and has proved himself as a top striker in the Premier League.
Lukaku is keen on a return to Stamford Bridge, per Evening Standard, with Chelsea willing to offer £60m plus striker Loic Remy to secure his services.
Everton are reluctant to let go of one of their key players this easily and insist they haven’t received any formal bid for the player. The Merseyside club are planning to offer him a pay rise to £135,000-a-week to convince him to stay put but Chelsea are offering a better deal.
Raiola could play a key role here. He is reportedly in the UK at the moment and wants to sit down with Lukaku to figure out the best possible solution for the striker. Everton will also hold talks with Raiola this week to clarify the situation.
