At this stage of the transfer window, it’s all about ‘could’ and ‘should’. The ‘done deals’ are likely to happen later when we enter the final days of this month. We have an interesting transfer story here today, involving Liverpool and Chelsea. Again, all conjectures.
Yesterday, Soccerlens’ Serie A expert Tamojit covered a story from Italy, where he wrote Florentina are almost certain to lose their goal keeper Neto. He wrote:
The report from TMW states that Neto is certain to leave the Florence based club and it could even happen in January. Moreover the relationship between the player and the club has reached an all time low and there have been no talks over a possible contract extension; the player’s contract expires in the summer.
We had earlier reported that Neto’s current salary is believed to come in at €650,000-per-season. He was expected to sign a new contract which see him earn close to €2m but talks have reportedly broken down.
The recent developments come as a huge respite for Liverpool as they can sign Neto on a cut price deal. Reigning Serie A champions Juventus are also interested in the 25 year old while Roma are also keeping tabs on the player’s situation.
Today, TMW has an update on it. They claim, Fiorentina are actively searching to find his replacement and are plotting a move to sign Chelsea’s 2nd-choice goal keeper Petr Cech.
Cech has struggled to get regular games this season with Mourinho preferring Thibaut Courtois over him. The veteran has expressed his desire to play regular games, as he feels, he has lots of football left in him, and therefore could be tempted to move elsewhere should he gets a better offer.
Therefore, there is a possibility of a vacancy in either of the clubs – expect Liverpool to exploit that. Then again, it’s not Football Manager folks! It’s not that simple…
