Over the years, Chelsea have produced a lot of promising young talents. But somehow, they have turned into the world-class players they looked destined to be. The likes of Carlton Cole, Robert Huth, Fabio Borini and Scott Sinclair were all touted as future stars during their years in the Blues’ youth setup. But, after failing to establish themselves at Stamford Bridge, they proceeded to play for mid-table sides and slowly faded away.
Lucas Piazon, the attacking midfielder from Brazil, is currently one of the hottest young talents Chelsea have on their books. The 21 year-old is on loan at Eintracht Frankfurt for the season, and is billed as a player who could make a name in West London. But that is easier said than done though, with the vast amount of talent available to Jose Mourinho.
In a story reported here by Bild, the youngster has stated today that he would like to extend his stay in the Bundesliga, after netting the winner for his side against Schalke. This is his second goal of the season, and with more game-time under his belt, he is only set to get better and better.
Piazon said, “The game in the Bundesliga was not for me at first – very physical and fast. But I learn and improve myself. I feel good.”
At being asked about a return to Chelsea in the summer, he firmly said, “I would like to stay.”
Piazon only has one Premier League appearance to his name, coming on as a substitute in an 8-0 win over Aston Villa in the 2012-13 season, when Chelsea were managed by Rafa Benitez. He has since been on loan at Malaga, Vitesse and of course, Eintracht Frankfurt.
The Brazilian has been a Chelsea fan since his childhood, but may have reached a stage where he has to put emotions aside and take the best decision for his career.
