Ghana international Christian Atsu joined Chelsea in 2013 on a five-year contract, for a reported £3.5m, but the highly talented winger has yet to play a single game for the Blues.
The 23-year-old has spent loan spells at Vitesse and Everton, and this summer he has been plying trade with newly promoted Bournemouth on loan again.
Having failed to make a strong impression in the past couple of seasons, chances are slim he would make the first team grade at Chelsea. However, he still dreams of making his mark at Stamford Bridge, and knows he’ll have to impress during his loan stay with Bournemouth in order to make that happen. Speaking to BBC Sport, via Daily Express, Atsu said:
“It’s my dream to play for Chelsea. But right now I have to focus on Bournemouth. If I don’t play here there is no way I will get a chance at Chelsea.
“Of course I’m not happy I’m not playing in the Premier League because I came here to play. Going out on loan is very difficult, you have to keep moving and taking your family with you and that is not easy. But that is the life, and you have to accept it.
“I’m settling in well at Bournemouth, everything is step by step but things are good with my life and my family.”
Atsu meanwhile has yet to make any appearances for Bournemouth, who have made a relatively good start to the season. He needs to perform for the Cherries to have any chance of convincing Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho to give him game time at the Bridge next season.
Juan Cuadrado Transfer: Juventus wants to sign him permanently
The Bianconeri are planning to convert the loan deal for Juan Cuadrado into permanent at the end of the season. Chelsea won’t mind selling him to Juventus, provided they strike a deal for midfielder Paul Pogba.
Cuadrado has settled in nicely at his new club (he is already familiar with the Italian football and probably it suits his style) and has made a bright impression for the Italian champions.
Juventus have the option of making his move permanent at the end of the season, although per Football Italia, it it only a “gentleman’s agreement” on a €22m fee, and nothing more.
The 27-year-old seems happy in Turin and it is more likely that Juventus and Chelsea will try to reach an agreement to make the move permanent.
