DONE DEALS: Chelsea complete Cuadrado signing, Schurrle joins Wolfsburg

Following his impressive showing at the World Cup last year in Brazil, Cuadrado was targeted by several to clubs around Europe in the summer including Manchester United and Barcelona. But a deal wasn’t agreed and he stayed in the Serie A. He has scored six goals in all competitions this season and Jose Mourinho is reportedly a big fan of his style of play.

He will be available for selection for the away game at Aston Villa next week, and will be in line to make his Blues’ debut.

In the other big story, Andre Schurrle has joined Wolfsburg from Chelsea, ending a frenetic series of activities on deadline day. We reported earlier that the cost may act as a barrier to seeing the deal through, but the £24 million deal has now been confirmed by the Bundesliga outfit on their Twitter account.

The fee for the player will increase with performance-based bonuses, and he is set to pocket a wage of £85,000 per week.

Schurrle was expected to have a big future at Chelsea, but faded away this season after making a good start. He scored five competitions in all competitions this season, but failed to establish himself in the team regularly ahead of Willian on the right flank.
