We reported few hours back that Egyptian media KingFut claimed that Liverpool have agreed a deal with Salah. The 21-year-old will fly to Merseyside to complete the deal with the official announcement could be completed within the end of this week.

However, according to Sky Italy, Liverpool are not alone in the race, as fellow Premier League rivals Chelsea have joined them too.

According to renowned journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Chelsea have offered €10m plus bonuses for Salah, but the Londoners were told to cough up €18m for the winger, who is often dubbed as the Egyptian Messi.

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano further added that Chelsea are looking for a replacement of midfielder Juan Mata, who is on the verge of joining Manchester United, and therefore have taken a keen interest in the Egyptian.

Di Marzio added that Liverpool have offered €12m for the winger but with no bonuses. At the moment, it seems like Basel will not agree to sell the player unless they get a hefty fee and it could all boil down to the player’s preference.

What we can fathom is that the deal is far being done and there could be more drama involved in it. We will bring you the latest update as we get.
