Chelsea have agreed to extend Lucas Piazon’s loan deal at Fulham until the end of this season.
Daily Mail are reporting that the highly talented Brazilian has impressed with the Championship outfit so far and the Premier League leaders believe that staying at Craven Cottage will be good for his development. Furthermore, Chelsea’s west London rivals are keen on keeping the attacker at the club as well.
With the likes of Hazard, Moses, Pedro and Willian already at his disposal, Conte would have found it impossible to accommodate Piazon anyway.
Piazon will return to Stamford Bridge at the end of this season and it will be interesting to see if the Blues decide to get rid of him permanently. The 22-year-old will have just one year remaining on his Chelsea deal in the summer.
The former Sao Paulo forward has failed to establish himself at Chelsea and has Fulham is the fifth club he has joined on loan. Piazon has played for Malaga in Spain, Vitesse Arnhem in Holland, Eintracht Frankfurt in Germany, and Reading in the Championship last season. Chelsea signed the Brazilian back in 2012 when Roberto Di Matteo was in charge of the club. The South American made his first team debut for the Premier League side later that year but has been away on loan since 2013.
Chelsea signed the talented young forward back in 2012 and were expected to bring him back to the club this month. So far the Brazilian has scored four goals with Fulham and is hoping to help them push for a play-off place.
Fulham are currently eighth in the Championship, six points behind sixth placed Sheffield United.
