Chelsea have confirmed their summer signing Radamel Falcao will wear No 9 during his season-long loan spell.
The Colombian international spent the last season on-loan at Manchester United after arriving at Old Trafford on the deadline day of the last summer transfer window. He managed just four goals during his time with Louis van Gaal’s side.
The former Porto and Atletico Madrid striker will continue in the Premier League as he joined the English champions from AS Monaco on-loan earlier this summer. The Blues allowed Petr Cech leave Stamford Bridge and join London rivals Arsenal.
The Czech Republican’s departure saw Jose Mourinho bring in a keeper as they signed Asmir Begovic from Stoke City as Cech’s replacement. He will now take the 32-year-old’s No 1 jersey, but will be the second choice goalkeeper behind Thibaut Courtois.
