Chelsea have confirmed Ghanaian winger Christian Atsu’s loan move to Premier League newcomers Bournemouth. The 23 year old spent the 2014-15 season on loan at Everton, but failed to make an impact he was tipped to having suffered injuries and drops in form. Atsu will now link up with Eddie Howe’s side ahead of their maiden campaign in the top flight of English Football.

Atsu joined Chelsea last season from Porto, but was quickly loaned to Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem for the 2013-14 season. He caught the eye during the 2014 World Cup in Brazil whilst playing for Ghana. The forward while he also helped his country finish as runners-up at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations. Atsu won both the Player of the Tournament and Goal of the Tournament awards.
With Chelsea already have the likes of Hazard, Oscar and Willian in their ranks thus fighting for a regular starting place would have been tough for Atsu. Thus loaning the player to a fellow Premier League side seems the best possible solution for both the parties as the winger will continue his development before he returns to Stamford Bridge to stake his claim as a regular player.
