Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale has been linked with a return to the Premier League once again.
Spanish publication Marca are claiming that Manchester United and Chelsea are willing to smash the world transfer record in order to sign the Welsh superstar at the end of this season.
The report adds that both Premier League clubs are ready to fork out around €200 million for the 27-year-old winger. The former Tottenham star is currently recovering from an injury and has been a key player for the La Liga outfit ever since he signed for them in 2013 for the then world-record fee of £85.3 million.
Marca state that Gareth Bale’s desire is to continue at Real Madrid, but Chelsea and United are preparing two massive bids anyway. The report also claims that both clubs will look to offer him significant wages as well. Apparently, Bale will command wages of around €400,000-per-week.
Bale has been a long-term target for Manchester United and the Red Devils have been linked with the player for years now.
The Welsh international is a world class player and would be a stunning addition to any side in world football. He has shown that he has the temperament and ability to perform at the big stage during the Champions League finals and Euros. Bale has scored 65 goals in 139 appearances for Real Madrid so far and has won the Champions League twice during his time at Santiago Bernabeu.
