Celtic are hoping to sign the Hibs midfielder John McGinn this summer.
As per the Scottish Sun, Brendan Rodgers’ side have had a bid rejected for the player earlier this summer and they are planning to return with an improved offer.
The report adds that the opening offer was in the region of £1.5m. Hibs believe that McGinn is worth a lot more because Armstrong was sold for £7m despite having just 12 months left on his Celtic deal.
The Scottish champions are determined to sign the 23-year-old and they are set to continue talks with Hibs regarding the transfer.
Celtic have recently sold Stuart Armstrong to Southampton and they are looking for a replacement now.
Rodgers is keen on signing the Liverpool attacker Harry Wilson on loan as well. The youngster is expected to sign a new deal with the club and then leave on loan once again.
Wilson is a target for Rangers as well.
It will be interesting to see whether they can agree on a deal with Hibs soon. McGinn should prove to be a solid addition to Rodgers’ midfield.
