Carlo Ancelotti has hinted that Bayern Munich may be interested in signing Arsenal’s star attacker Alexis Sanchez this summer.
Following another disappointing campaign with the Gunners missing out on next season’s Champions League football, Sanchez’s future at the Emirates Stadium remains uncertain and the 28-year-old has been heavily linked with a move with the likes of Bayern Munich and Manchester City.
The former Barcelona star featured in every single Premier League game last season, scoring 24 goals and providing another 10 assists to continue to be considered as one of the highly sought forward in Europe currently.
Bayern president Uli Hoeness claimed last week that the club do not have any transfer policy to sign veteran players but the German champions’ boss Carlo Ancelotti has revealed that he ‘likes’ the prolific Chile International.
Ancelotti said: “If an opportunity comes up, the club will be ready. There are lots of rumours. Alexis is a great player but not the only one in the world. I like Alexis.
“There are possibilities in the transfer market, which can be in many direction. I believe that the market is currently somewhat crazy – and Bayern is not a crazy club.
“I know the culture of this club and will not ask for any players for whom the club has to spend crazy sums, but if there are opportunities, why not?”
Arsenal, meanwhile, are close to signing their long-term target Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon in a reported transfer deal in excess of £45 million, meaning the Gunners could be prepared to sell their in-demand top scorer for the right prize this summer.
