Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers once again reiterated his confidence about continuing at Anfield next season.

The Reds are set to end their disappointing season at Stoke tomorrow and the Northern Irishman has been under constant criticism after his 100 million plus spending spree last summer.

Having returned to the Champions league this season, the Reds have crashed out and were beaten to the final Champions league spot by bitter rivals Manchester United. The Reds were on the road to recovery after a poor start to the season, but the catastrophic performances in their last 8 games have seen them drop into Europa league places.

At one point this season, Liverpool were the most in form team in all of Europe, before they were dismantled at Anfield by a Manchester United side, inspired by Juan Mata. Since then, the Reds have struggled in every game and have dropped crucial points week in week out.

Brendan Rodgers was rumoured to be on his way out in December when the Reds were struggling in the league and were sent crashing out of the Champions League group stages. The former Swansea manager is under the microscope once again with the likes of Klopp and Benitez linked to the Liverpool job next season.

Asked if he feels John Henry and Tom Werner will stick by him next season following an end of season review, Rodgers replied: “Yeah, yeah. 150 per cent.

“I think you evolve as a manager. Certainly the experiences of this year will make me better. We have been clear with the identity of how we want to play since I’ve been here and obviously it hasn’t quite worked out this season as I would have liked.

“But going forward, I repeat, I will be a better manager for the experiences and hopefully go on next year to be more consistent and we can win more games than we have.”

FSG are set to review the season next week, in terms of transfers and performances.

“There is probably a lot more made of that than what it actually is – there have been a number of reviews,” he said. “Throughout the season I’ve had great communication with the owners. I’ll speak with them at the end of the season – like I did last year, like I did at the end of my first year, and like I’ve done intermittently throughout the season. There is no Great Big Review.”

Further, Rodgers also stated that there will be changes to the Liverpool model going forward and that he believes in the owners and enjoys a good working relationship.

“It is very clear in terms of the model of how it works here. That doesn’t change – you have to remember the owners have had great success in terms of working and how they want to work,” he added.

“Everyone here is aligned to that and have that belief in what they’ve brought to the club. For us it is really analysing this year in terms of all the plans, all the changes that took place last year, review that, how can we be better equipped to move forward and challenge”, he said.
