Napoli boss Rafael Benitez is targeting to land Sevilla left-back Alberto Moreno, who is also a target of Chelsea, Manchester United and Real Madrid, in the January transfer window.
The 21-year-old Moreno, after graduating from Sevilla’s youth academy, started his senior career in 2012 for his hometown club and has made 31 appearances so far, scoring two goals already.
In November, The Mirror reported that Manchester United were plotting a move to land the highly-rated youngster in January, as manager David Moyes wants to secure a long-term replacement for 32-year-old Patrice Evra.
The United manager has tried to bring left-back Leighton Baines from Everton to Manchester United in the summer, but has been unsuccessful so far in his attempts to lure him from Goodison Park.
As a result of which, the attention has been shifted elsewhere and Moreno was thought to be a potential target.
Likewise, Premier League heavy weights Chelsea are also thought to be showing a keen interest in the young left-back with the Blues looking to find a long-term successor for England left-back Ashley Cole.
Moreno has a buy-out clause of £25m, but both Chelsea and Man Utd believe that they could land their target within £20m. Spanish giants Real Madrid have also registered an interest as the club looking to find a replacement for Fabio Coentrao, whose future has come under speculation recently.
According to reports in Spain, Napoli boss Rafael Benitez is looking to make an early move for him and the Spaniard is hoping to conclude the deal within less than €20m.
Should Manchester United and Chelsea make a move for him in January before Napoli snatch away a highly talented youngster?
