Belgian star reveals regular contact with Liverpool Manager

Liverpool signed Divock Origi for a transfer fee worth £10m in the summer transfer window. The Belgian youngster however was immediately loaned to French side Lille for the 2014-15 season. The Reds however signed Mario Balotelli to solve their goal scoring woes up front after Luis Suarez left for the greener pastures of Barcelona.

Origi however told Sky Sports that he has not been forgotten by the Anfield outfit. The teenager who has scored 4 goals in 5 matches this season claimed that he is in regular contact with manager Brendan Rodgers.

Origi who is scheduled to start Belgium’s European qualifier against Andorra on Friday claimed, “Brendan Rodgers keeps in touch when he can because he’s a busy man. Sometimes he sends me some messages and sometimes people from Liverpool come and visit me in Lille. It’s good to know they are following my progress.”

Origi also believes that it is important to continue his fine form in the season and he needs to keep working hard to prepare for a higher level. Liverpool’s tough start to the season has seen them pick up 10 points from 7 games. However Origi is optimistic that results will improve.

“It’s a new era and everything will go well. They have a fantastic team: Balotelli is a great striker, they have Daniel Sturridge and they have Raheem Sterling – one of the best young talents in the world.”
