Portuguese forward Bebe has refused to rule out a return to Manchester United after he admitted that nothing is impossible in football.

After coming up through the ranks of Estrela, he was promoted to the first team in 2009. A year later Bebe joined Vitória de Guimarães. However, just five weeks after joining his new club, the attacker made another switch as he completed a move to Manchester United in 2010.

Bebe struggled during his time at United and he could be considered as former Red Devils manager Sir Alex Ferguson’s one of the worst signings during his long-serving career at Old Trafford. He left England after few loan spells and joined Benfica in 2014.

However, the 25-year-old could not cement his place at Benfica and was sent out on loan. He joined Rayo Vallecano earlier in the summer and Bebe believes he can still make another switch to a big club, if he can showcase his goalscoring abilities in the Spanish league.

“I’ve never thought about that [returning to Man United], but nothing is impossible,” Bebe told Portuguese newspaper Publico.

“If I score 10 goals in La Liga then for sure, I’ll be able to sign for a big club. If I score 10 goals here at Rayo Vallecano I’m going to have many big teams chasing me again next year.”

Even if he goes on shine for either Rayo or Benfica (after completing his loan spell), it is unlikely that United will make an approach for his services again. After struggling in England and elsewhere, Bebe’s immediate focus should be regain his form so that he can cement a place in Benfica’s starting XI, should he decide to return to his parent club.
